so far i havent start to draft my chapter 1. i already has list of point to be included but when i started to write something, my mind seems cant work at getting the words to be typed at Ms Word, hence i still stuck at the list of points. so i continue with importing the thousands of biblios from the online databases to endnote.
i tried to keep the motivation as high as i could by reading more about how to do thesis/dissertation...and i landed myself that this site, which i think quite informative for those who never done any thesis/dissertation writing. 'Writing The Thesis' by Mark C. Griffin, though most part of the article is about writing for PhD thesis, i think it is still relevant for master thesis...one part i like most is about writing a draft, where the author included another reading material for reference:
Joe Wolfe (How to Write a Ph.D. Thesis) offers the following observations in regard to the editorial process:
"As you write your thesis, your scientific writing is almost certain to improve. Even for native speakers of English who write very well in other styles, one notices an enormous improvement in the first drafts from the first to the last chapter written. The process of writing the thesis is like a course in scientific writing, and in that sense each chapter is like an assignment in which you are taught, but not assessed. Remember, only the final draft is assessed: the more comments your adviser adds to first or second draft, the better."
well, that's about my study. on the other side of my world of course most of it about my daughter who's have lots of questions playing around her mind asking for answers (and of course her mom would be the first person to know what the question is..). last night when we had dinner which one of the meal was fried fish, mya asked me this one simple question:
mya: ma, why is the fish died?
(refering to the helplessly but eatable fried fish on the plate which i was eating not her)
me: because the fish was no longer in the sea water, it cannot live elsewhere than sea...(my mind was equip with the taxanomy of the fish that breath using its gills etc..and hoping there's no 'why' question following the answer)
mya: NO! you're wrong! it is because you already FRIED the FISH!
me: ~almost choked on fish that i was eating!~ and therefore CASE closed!
